LOS CABALLEROS DEL SON AT THE PRIME EXAMPLE

Los Caballeros Del Son at Prime Example

Los Caballeros del Son is one of the premiere Latin music groups currently performing in South Lousiana. They play traditional Cuban “Son” music, the foundation of all Cuban dance music.

Los Caballeros del Son features, bandleader, Guillermo “El Mono” (the Monkey) Guzmán on piano, percussion and bass, Alexis Guevara Muñoz, on lead vocals and guitar. Guzmán and Guevara are both from Ciego de Ávila, Cuba. They will be joined by New Orleans-based percussionist Alexey Martí (from Havana, Cuba), bassist Jorge Pérez (Puerto Rico) and other special guests.

The Prime Example Jazz Club, on the corner of N. Broad Street and St. Bernard Avenue, is expanding the scope of their Thursday Nights Swingin’ jazz series, in partnership with The CubaNOLA Arts Collective, to include Latin jazz on the third Thursday of every month. This new monthly Lazz jazz series is a tribute to historical and present day contributions of Latino musicians and residents to every day life and art in New Orleans, including the birth and evolution of jazz music itself.

Los Caballeros del Son will emotionally and spiritually transport audiences to their native homeland of Cuba through the beauty and fun of traditional Cuban “Son” music.
