A Celebration between Mid-City Neighbors
Disfruta de lo que la cultura de New Orleans comparte con nuestras culturas latinoamericanas este domingo 2 de octubre en el Parque Comiskey en Jefferson Davis Parkway entre Tulane y Banks con sus amigos, familiares y vecinos de todo al area.
We reveled in the shared commonalities and histories between New Orleans and Latin America on Sunday October 2 at Comiskey Playground with friends, family and neighbors from throughout the area.
HEALTH & COMMUNITY / SALUD Y COMUNIDAD
Festival attenndees got health screenings and gathered resources from 50+ nonprofits and health providers – free! Early birds took advantage of all the health screenings that were available. There were even free massages, acupuncture and hair salon services to help with mental health and relaxation.
Aprovecha de las pruebas médicas y recursos comunitarios brindados por más de 50 organizaciones comunitarias y de salud. Vengan temprano para poder aprovechar los servicios médicos que se ofrecerán. Incluso tendremos masajes, acupuntura y tratamientos de belleza para quitar el estrés y mejorar su salud mental.
MÚSICA, BAILE Y FOLKORE / MUSIC, DANCE & FOLKLORE
Una vez que estén traquilos y saludables, pueden bailar con nuevos amigos diferente música como salsa, reggaetón, brass bands, steel drum bands, samba, forro, duranguense, mariachis, Latin jazz y mucho más. Y si Ud prefiere mirar puede disfrutar de varios ballets folklóricos representando las tradiciones de México, Panamá, Nicaragua, América Central, Colombia, la Nación Garífuna y Brasil.
Once relaxed and healthy we made new friends dancing to salsa, reggaetón, brass bands, steel drum bands, samba, forro, duranguense, mariachis, Latin jazz and much more. Even if you just preferred to watch you were able to enjoy the folkoric dance companies representing México, Panama, Nicaragua, Central America, Colombia, the Garífuna Nation and Brazil.
SPORTS / DEPORTE
There was also the option to join in all the sports excitement with soccer, volleyball and basketball tournaments, clinics and games for kids and adults.
También se puede compartir la emoción del deporte participando en partidos y clínicas del futból, basketball y volleyball para niños y adultos.
